Taylor Aston White loves to explore mythology and European faerie tales to create her own, modern magic world. She collects crystals, house plants and dark lipstick, and has two young children who like to 'help' with her writing by slamming their hands across the keyboard.
After working several uncreative jobs and one super creative one she decided to become a full-time author and now spends the majority of her time between her children and writing the weird and wonderful stories that pop into her head.
Questions asked by readers through Social Media. If you would like to ask more questions please ask below or contact me on Facebook.
When did you know you wanted to be an author?
I've always been creative, from drawing to dressmaking (I actually have two degrees in both Fashion and Textiles.) Writing has always been a creative outlet for me since I was a young child, but It was only in the last five years or so that I thought I could make a career out of it.
Do you plan your book or make it up as you go along?
I write the general idea of the whole novel before I start, but I allow the story to adapt as I write so it very rarely stays the same.
Do you write, or have you been published before, under any other name?
I have only ever been published as Taylor Aston White. I have no Pen Names.
How many books are you planning to release per year?
I'm planning two a year (spaced six months apart.)
Why don’t you have more books released within a year?
I don't have the talent as others to release more than two a year, unfortunately. I juggle writing with taking care of my toddler which will always be a priority. Luckily, his mischievousness inspires me.
If you were accepted into a publishing house, would you take the opportunity?
I would definitely consider it, as all publishing options have their pros and cons. I looked into publishing options before I decided on Independent publishing, but I would be interested in Hybrid Publishing for future series.
Are your supernatural characters original?
Is anything original? My characters/creatures are based on mythology and European faerie tales with a bit of imagination.
Do you actually know magic?
That's a secret.
What are your thoughts on fanfiction?
I love the idea of fanfiction, although I have never really read any. I have already had one person threaten me that if I didn't write the story to their satisfaction they would release a fanfiction. I support all faniction and would definitely read it! I may even feature it on the website.
Is there any other series you have planned?
I have a few ideas brewing - including a Daemon spin-off, but I have to concentrate on Alice for now.
How many Alice Skye books planned?
I have five ideas written down, but that doesn't mean there won't be more. I'll probably decide closer to the end whether I feel Alice's adventures could come to an end.
What can I do to support you?
To support me, as well as other Indie authors is to leave a review on both Amazon and Goodreads. The more positive reviews, the more visibility.
